Finding the leaders who help generosity flourish
Generosity Talent Placement connects churches, ministries, Christian schools, and nonprofits with development and generosity professionals who fit their mission, their culture, and the season ahead.
The right development leader changes everything
A development leader shapes how your organization relates to every person who gives. Hire for skill alone and you may get a fundraiser. Hire for calling, character, and fit, and you get a steward leader who helps givers grow, not just gifts.
Generosity Talent Placement brings a generosity practitioner’s perspective to every search. Chris has done this work, led this work, and written about it, so he knows what to look for in the people who will carry it forward.
- Mission and faith alignment first. We look for people whose calling fits yours, not just a matching job title.
- A curated shortlist, not a stack of resumes. You meet a few people who fit, each one personally vetted.
- Confidential on both sides. Organizations and candidates can explore openly and discreetly.
- Personal from start to finish. Chris is involved from the first call through the 90-day check-in.

A generosity practitioner, not just a recruiter
Chris knows these roles from the inside. He has carried a development budget, made the ask, coached others to raise support, and written about stewardship for churches and leaders.
- Owned vision and strategy, communications, finance, systems, and development for a global ministry, personally responsible for about $2M a year across 12 income streams.
- Author of Ignite Your Generosity (InterVarsity Press, 2015), Steward Leaders Rise (2026), and Open Hands (2026).
- Serves on the Mission Increase Leadership Advisory Board and the Christian Leadership Alliance Advisory Council.
- Has led generosity workshops at Christian Leadership Alliance conferences and Missio Nexus, and support-raising training for Missions Door executives and field leaders.
- Has spoken at more than 50 fundraising events, always making the ask.
Flexible ways to work together
Every organization and role is different. Alongside membership, we will recommend the search approach that fits your needs after a first conversation.
Retained search
A dedicated search for senior or mission-critical roles, such as a Chief Development Officer or Director of Development. Includes the consultation, role profile, active outreach, a curated shortlist, interview support, and the 90-day check-in.
Contingency placement
For roles where you would like introductions to qualified, personally vetted candidates from our network, with the placement fee due only when you hire.
Hiring consultation
Not sure what role you need yet? Start with a conversation about your development structure, the role profile, and what to look for in your next hire.
Fees depend on the role and the scope of the engagement, and are discussed openly in a consultation before any work begins. Candidates never pay a fee.
An ongoing partner for your development hiring
Registering your organization is free. A monthly membership will give churches, ministries, schools, and nonprofits ongoing access to Generosity Talent Placement, so you are ready the moment a development or generosity role opens.

Questions we often hear
Does it cost anything to register as a candidate?
No. Registration and representation are always free for candidates. Hiring organizations cover the cost of a search.
Is my registration confidential?
Yes. Your information is reviewed by Chris and used only for placement. It is shared with a hiring organization only after we talk about a specific role and you give permission. We will never contact your current employer without your consent.
I'm not actively looking. Should I still register?
Yes. Many of the best moves start as a quiet conversation. Registering simply lets Chris know you are open to hearing about the right opportunity.
Do you only work with Christian organizations?
Our focus is churches, ministries, mission agencies, Christian schools, foundations, and faith-based nonprofits. We are also glad to talk with mission-driven nonprofits whose values align with the candidates we serve.
How do you handle faith alignment?
Many organizations we serve ask staff to affirm a statement of faith. We talk openly and respectfully about faith, calling, and ministry background so that both the organization and the candidate can make a wise decision. The faith background question on the candidate form is optional.
Do you fill remote and regional roles?
Yes. Chris is based in Bradenton, Florida, and serves organizations nationwide, including on-site, hybrid, and remote roles. Candidates can tell us whether they are willing to relocate.
How long does a search take?
Every search is different. During your consultation we will set a realistic timeline together based on the role, location, and your urgency, and keep you updated along the way.
How does membership for organizations work?
Organizations register for free, then can choose a monthly membership for ongoing access to the placement service. Plan details are coming soon. In the meantime, register your organization and Chris will walk you through the options personally.
What does a search cost?
